The Alumni Medical Library is pleased to introduce the new library website at http://medlib.bu.edu. Along with an updated graphic design, the site provides a variety of value-added features for easier, more complete, access to library resources.
Features of the new site include:
- An easier to remember URL. The old URL at http://med-libwww.bu.edu will automatically take you to the new website.
- Medical Web Collections that bring together many types of resources on one page - find book call numbers, electronic journals, electronic textbooks, indexes and databases, relevant websites, professional associations, and government agencies on your topic, all in one place.
- Searchable electronic journal and electronic indexes/databases pages that allow title word and subject access to e-resources.
These and other changes will improve access to the many resources available on the Alumni Medical Library Website. If you have any questions or comments about the new Website design please e-mail refquest@medlib.bu.edu, or call the reference desk at (617) 638-4228.
Alumni Medical Library Copy Cards Can Be Exchanged for Mugar and Law Library Copy Cards
Effective Monday January 19, in order to facilitate copying in the Boston University Mugar and Law libraries, the Alumni Medical Library will begin making available $5.00 (50 copy) cards that may be exchanged for Medical Library copies of an equal amount. Eligible students must show a valid Boston University ID and a Medical library copy/print card with 50 or more copies/prints remaining on the card. Copies will be deducted from the Medical library copy card in increments of 50 copies, and the student will receive an equal number of copies issued on the Mugar Library or Law Library copy cards. The $5.00 Mugar Library or Law Library copy cards may be picked-up at the Circulation Desk in the Alumni Medical Library, Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 6:00 pm. Once Mugar or Law library copy cards are issued, they may not be returned to the Alumni Medical Library.
As a reminder of the free copy/print card policy, students in the Schools of Medicine, Graduate Medical Sciences, Public Health, and Dental Medicine are eligible to receive 500 free copies/prints during EACH of the following two time periods: 1) January 1 – June 30, and 2) July 1 – December 31. The 500 free copies/prints can be picked-up on any date during each of the two periods, as long as the number of copies/prints remaining on a student's card has dropped to 100 or fewer. Students must show a valid Boston University ID in order to receive their copies/prints. Copies/prints may be picked-up at the Library Circulation Desk, Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 6:00 pm.
Students are advised to print an e-mail address on the back of the card. Boston University Alumni Medical Library is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged cards.
